Mother M. Angelica founded Our Lady of the Angels Monastery of Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration In 1962. In 1981 she founded the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) and in 1992, she founded WEWN to broadcast Catholic programs world-wide via short-wave radio
The chapel at the Monastery was declared the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in 1991.
