The Cathedral of St John the Evangelist
775 North 8th Street
Boise, Idaho 83702
Parish Office 208-342-3511

The Cathedral was designed in Romanesque style, patterned after the Cathedral in Mainz, Germany. It is shaped in the form of a crucifix, 170 feet in length and 54 feet at its' widest point.

A striking feature is the number of stained glass windows. Around the Cathedral stained glass windows depict the life of Christ beginning with the Annunciation and ending with the Resurrection.
Other windows depict St Joseph, with the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Epiphany and Adoration of the Magi. St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke, St John, St Alphonsus, St Teresa of Avila, St Patrick, St Rita and St Cecilia. Sacred Heart of Jesus the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Ascension as viewed by the 11 apostles.

The Holy Spirit window directly above the altar was added in 1979 during the restoration of the Cathedral.
